Camel Bone bracelet with Dorje and Buddhist Bum Counter Sterling Silver Accents

This unusual Tibetan Buddhist bracelet is made from Camel Bone Beads.(Please note that the beads are fashioned from bones of aged,dead Bactrian Camels found in India and Nepal and were not killed specially for this use.) 

The bracelet , along with the traditional  tibetan cotton tie, also has a sterling silver dorje  and a Sterling silver Buddhist Mala Bum Counter Clip which is related to the OM Mantra.. It is merely an accent on this bracelet,which is not a mala bracelet ( it has 29 beads whereas a mala might have 27 or 108)

The bum counter is used to count 10,000 mantra recitations.  After  you finish the first 10,000 mantra recitations, you would then put the bum counter after the first bead and next to the guru bead ( "bum' in Tibetan means a lakh or 1000,000) then begin the next 10,000 recitations.

Bum counter clips are attractive items and come in many spiritually based designs. They make gorgeous accents on bracelets and can be placed anywhere on the bracelet between the beads.

Symbolically a dorje represents the 'thunderbolt of enlightenment,' that abrupt change in human consciousness which is recognized by all great religions as a pivotal episode in the lives of mystics and saints.When the dorje sign is worn, they remind the wearer of the indestructibility of knowledge.
